11.3G Release

If you're part of the Preferred Client Program, you can download the latest desktop version in the Client Portal.

PDS Formation Office 11.3G, releasing for desktop 9-22-26 and OnDemand 9-24-26, offers the following enhancements.

New and Improved Features

Reassign a Student to a Different Class
  • From the Class List, you can move a student from their current class to a different one. Once you reassign the student, the old class information is replaced with the new class in their Detail window, and the Attendance window reflects the move.

  • For example, let's say we want to reassign Caroline Andersen from Jr. High Formation to Bible Study.

    • Go to the current Jr. High Formation class, and locate Caroline. Click Reassign Student to a Different Class, then select the new class, Bible Study.

Example showing the Class Schedules window with "Andersen, Caroline" selected in the grid and the button for "Reassign Student to a Different Class"

    • After reassigning, Caroline's Detail window shows "Bible Study" instead of "Jr. High Formation".

Example showing the Student Detail window before and after the reassignment

    • Caroline's Attendance window shows a note on each day for the class she was moved from.

Example showing the Student Attendance window after the reassignment

  • For steps, see Reassign a Student to a Different Class.
Saint Name in Sacrament Import
  • You can now import a person's saint name from a .csv file into student sacrament records. On the Keys/Birth Info tab, select the matching value for Saint Name from your file in the drop-down list.

Example of the Import Sacrament Information process showing the Keys/Birth Info tab, with the "Saint Name" value from the file selected in the Saint Name field

  • The data from your file will be posted as text in the Saint's Name field on the student's sacrament record.

Example showing the student's sacrament record with Saint Name imported as "Anthony"

Longer Confirmation Names
  • You can now enter up to 70 characters for the Confirmation Name on student sacraments and in the Sacramental Register.
  • We updated the Full Page Confirmation Certificate to accommodate longer names. If the name is 40 characters or shorter, it prints as usual. If it's over 40 characters, the font size decreases so the full confirmation name can fit on the certificate.

Note About Recalculating Name Formats
  • In the 11.3C release, we added an option in the Initial Setup for Use Both First Names in Name Formats. When selected, this indicated that you want to see the first names of both the head and spouse in Mailing Name and Formal Salutation formats. However, in order for this to take effect, you have to recalculate the name formats on each family's record or in bulk using the system process.
  • With this release, a note will now display that reminds you to recalculate the name formats whenever you change this option. From this note, you can click Help to see the steps for the Change Names process.

Initial Setup window showing the option for "Use Both First Names in Name Formats" along with the confirmation message that says, "Changing this option will not automatically update existing family name formats. To recalculate all name formats so that your change takes effect, run the Change Names process and select the 'Recalculate Family & Member Mailing Names, Formal Salutations, & Informal Salutations' option. Click Help to see how to run the Change Names process; in the message box, there are buttons for OK and Help"
