Another user is currently reassigning envelope numbers displays in Contributions

When trying to reassign envelope numbers, this error displays:

Another user is currently reassigning envelope numbers.

  • Products affected: Contributions

  • Versions affected: Any

If another user is logged in and reassigning envelope numbers, you'll need to wait until they're finished or ask them to log out. If this is not the case, login tables are likely corrupt.

ACS creates .Net and .Lck files to prevent two users from editing the same record at the same time. ACS deletes these files when you exit the program properly, through the Exit button or the X at the top of the window.

Sometimes these files are not properly deleted. This could occur if:

  • Your workstation does not respond.

  • You restart your computer.

  • Your computer restarts after a power surge .

  • You shut down your computer without exiting ACS.

If this occurs, you can manually delete the files

  1. Verify that another user is not currently reassigning envelope numbers. If no users are reassigning envelope numbers, repair the login tables. Repairing login tables repairs any corrupt awusr* (user) tables.
  2. Make sure all users are logged out of any ACS Products before repairing tables.
  3. Repair tables.
