Invalid Phone Number Type During Tax E-File
This troubleshooting guide addresses the issue of receiving an 'Invalid PhoneNumber Type' error during electronic tax filing. The error is caused by a missing area code in the organization's information or an employee's record. The guide provides steps to resolve this issue.
When performing a Tax E-File, this error displays:
Element 'PhoneNumber Type' has an invalid value for the data type 'PhoneNumber Type'.
Products affected: Payroll
Versions affected: 11.0 and above
The area code is missing in the organization's information in Select Dataset or on an employee's record.
- Under Advanced Tools, click the Admin Utilities tab.
- In the drop-down list, select Select Dataset, then click Go.
- Select the desired dataset and click Edit.
- Edit the Phone 1 field and add the area code.
