Housing Allowance Does not Print on Pastor's W-2
This troubleshooting guide addresses the issue where a pastor's housing allowance, entered as an adjustment, does not print on Form W-2. The guide provides solutions for defining the W-2 box description, editing Form W-2, and using cost centers to enter housing allowances. The issue affects any version of the Payroll product.
When the pastor's housing allowance is entered as an adjustment, it does not print on Form W-2.

To resolve this error, define the W-2 box description or edit Form W-2.
- To define the W-2 box description, under Advanced Tools, click the Define Lists tab.
- In the drop-down list, select Payroll and click Go.
- Under Available Lists, expand Payroll and select Adjustments.
- Select the desired adjustment and click Edit.
- Under W-2 Totals, select Box 14 - Other.
- Enter the Code/Description. Example: Housing.
- Click OK, then Close.
- To edit Form W2, under Manager Records, click the Period End Procedures tab.
- In the drop-down list, select Add/Edit W-2 Totals and click Go.
- In the Employee box, click Lookup to select the employee.
- Click Override Box 14 Totals, then enter the housing allowance amount.
- Click Apply, then OK.
Alternatively, you can enter housing allowances using cost centers.
- Under Advanced Tools, click the Define Lists tab.
- In the drop-down list, select Payroll, then click Go
- Under Available Lists, select Cost Centers.
- Select the cost center that you want to change, and click Edit.
- Enter the revised information in the appropriate fields and click OK.
