Message Scheduled Volunteers

Message volunteers who are scheduled to serve.

You can send an inbox message to volunteers for a specific date on your schedule. Once sent, volunteers receive the message based on their preferred notification settings. The message displays in the Inbox, and if you have replies enabled, volunteers will can respond to the message there. The option to message only specific volunteers is not available for teams with more than 100 volunteers.

Message Scheduled Volunteers for Administrators

Message volunteers who are scheduled to serve as an administrator.

Permissions Required

Only available to administrators and users who have the Manage Schedules permission.

  1. Click Admin > Volunteer > Serving Teams.
  2. Click the name of the team.
  3. To view upcoming schedules for the team, click the Schedules tab.
  4. Click the name of the schedule.
  5. On the Assignments tab, click the ellipsis iconnext to a date on the schedule and select Send Message.
  6. From the To drop-down menu, select the type of volunteers you want to message. You can choose from those who have confirmed the assignment, those who have not confirmed, or all volunteers for that date.
  7. If you need to remove a volunteer from the message, click the X iconnext to the volunteer's name.
  8. Enter the title and message content.
  9. In the Reply Options drop-down menu, select who can reply to this message.
  10. If your team has text messaging enabled, and at least one volunteer has opted in to receiving texts, you can preview the text that volunteers receive. To change the text, click Customize, then enter the message you want to send. You can also remove the link in the text by clearing Include link in text.
  11. Click Send.

Message Scheduled Volunteers for Leaders

Message volunteers who are scheduled to serve as a leader

Permissions Required

Only available to team leaders who have the Manage team schedules permission.

  1. Click Community > Serving.
  2. Click the team's name to view the leader dashboard for that team.
  3. In the Volunteer Scheduling section, click Manage volunteer schedules in detail.
  4. Click the name of the schedule.
  5. On the Assignments tab, click the ellipsis iconnext to a date on the schedule and select Send Message.
  6. From the To drop-down menu, select the type of volunteers you want to message. You can choose from those who have confirmed the assignment, those who have not confirmed, or all volunteers for that date.
  7. If you need to remove a volunteer from the message, click the X iconnext to the volunteer's name.
  8. Enter the title and message content.
