Family Splits and Forms Two Households
Use this process in the event of divorce or separation, whether or not children are involved.
- Sign in as an administrator or user with the appropriate permission.
- Locate the record of the family head or spouse, then click his or her name.
- Click
and select Separate Household.
- Update each individual record with any changes resulting from the separation.
- Any children or others who are part of the family are listed under the main individuals. Select which family to link each child with. For dual custody, you can check both families, but then select a Primary Family.
- Click Save.
Primary Family Member Marries
Use this process when an adult congregant marries or remarries.
- Sign in as an administrator or user with the appropriate permission.
- Click .
- If one of the marriage partners does not yet have a record, add him or her in a new family first, then proceed to the next step.
- Locate the record of the family head or spouse, then click his or her name.
- Click
and select Get Married.
- Update the individual's record with any changes resulting from the marriage.
- Click Save.
- If the marriage brings new children, locate the record again and add a family member.
Congregant Marked "Child" Marries
Use this process when someone whose profile has the family position of "child" gets married.
- Sign in as an administrator or user with the appropriate permission.
- Click .
- If one of the marriage partners does not yet have a record, add him or her in a new family first, then proceed to the next step.
- Locate the child's record, then click his or her name.
- Click
and select Get Married.
- Update the individual's record with any changes resulting from the marriage.
- Click Save.
- If the marriage brings new children, locate the record again and add a family member.
Child in Multiple Families becomes Adult
Use this process when someone whose profile has the family position of "child" in multiple families becomes an adult.
Child in Multiple Families is Removed from One
Use this process when someone whose profile has the family position of "child" is removed from one of their families.
- Sign in as an administrator or user with the appropriate permission.
- Locate and open the child's record.
- On the right side of the page, locate the family you want to remove from the child's record.
- Click
and select Remove from this family. The option is only visible when you hover over the family's listing and only for the child's non-primary families.
- Click Yes to confirm.
Family Member Leaves for Other Reasons
- Sign in as an administrator or user with the appropriate permission.
- Locate and open the individual's record.
- Click
and select Change Household.
- Enter the new, target household.
- Update the moving-individual's contact information.
- Click Save.
