Create a Budget with Amounts from a Previous Year

Use the amounts you budgeted or use your actual amounts from the previous year to prepare the budget for this year.

You must have accounting administrator or accounting oversight permissions to perform this task.
  1. Click Accounting > Budgets.
  2. Click Create Budget.
  3. Select a fiscal year.
    Note: Realm Accounting notifies you if you already have budget data for the year you select. If you continue, the existing budget will be overwritten.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select Actual amounts from a previous year: or Budgeted amounts from a previous year:.
  6. Select the year from which you want to pull amounts.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Enter the percentage that you want to increase or decrease revenue and expense accounts.
    • Positive numbers increase the revenue and expense accounts.

    • Negative numbers decrease the revenue and expense accounts.

  9. Optional: Select Include inactive accounts, if necessary.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. If you want to download a CSV and create your budget using a spreadsheet, leave Download Budget Worksheet selected. If not, clear the check box.
  12. Click Create Budget.
